Performance Monitor for PostgreSQL (release 2019.3)

On August 31, 2019, we released a new version of Performance Monitor for the PostgreSQL database platform. The most important functions added in the application are a new view that shows the database archiving process, preview of the replication process and table statistics.

A new view that shows the data archiving process
In the new version of the application, a view showing information contained in the pg_stat_archiver system view has been added. The application presents information on the number of archived WAL files and their status. The data is available in the IO Stats menu in the Archived WALs tab. The data is available broken down by day – after clicking the row in the table below the graph, detailed information will be grouped after the snap for the day.

Preview replication process
In the latest version of the application, system view support pg_stat_replication has been added. The data is available in the IO Stats menu on the Replication tab.
After select one of the replicating processes from the list available in the “WAL sender process” field, information that contains details of the given process will be displayed, including Logdate, PID, Username, Application name, Client IP, Backend Start, State, Write lag.

Table statistics
As part of the new version for PostgreSQL, the option to view statistics for tables in PostgreSQL databases has been added. Thanks to this functionality it is possible to view statistics for each table and examine trends for each of them. To this end, a new menu item has been added in the instance details> Table Stats.

Access to software updates
The DBPLUS software is updated at least 4 times a year. Customers have access to all updates when they have a license or maintenance service. With the upgrade to the latest version, the application will run faster and smoother. Each published version provides new functionalities that allow for easier management and performance improvement in the monitored database.
