DBPLUS offers a unique solution for effective performance optimisation of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases. DBPLUS Performance Monitor software allows users to very precisely monitor the performance parameters of databases and search for bottlenecks which can be optimised.

Apart from its advanced monitoring software, DBPLUS also offers a wide variety of services aimed at optimising database performance. Our software and service were developed based on 15 years of experience of the DBPLUS team of experts in problem solving and database environment optimisation.

This offer is intended for clients who require a comprehensive service, who are focused on the dynamics of development, and who often implement new program functionalities which can be a source of performance issues. Our service involves responsibility for database performance during the period specified in the agreement with the client.

The service covers:

  • 24/7 database monitoring
  • Constant performance analysis
  • Instant diagnosis and solutions for problems with performance of the databases entrusted to us
  • Guaranteed maintenance of a set performance level for the entire duration of the service agreement
  • Recommendations of best practices for the client’s programmers/administrators

FAQ

Go to our YouTube channel, where you can find films which will help you discover the functionality of DBPLUS Performance Monitor and where you can find out how it can be used to discover and resolve database performance problems.

Overview

If we do not succeed – you don’t pay! We guarantee that the databases covered by our agreements will perform at the level established in the service agreement for its entire duration. Otherwise, the cost of our services will be 0!

Working hours 6:00 AM – 2:00PM (GMT)

During working hours, our operators constantly monitor the performance of your database, meaning that problems which may appear are instantly analysed and diagnosed. As a result, the client receives performance reports in real time.

After hours

Our software allows you to automatically monitor the database 24 hours a day. It can also be configured to send automatic alerts if certain set key parameters are exceeded.

How does it work?

This comprehensive service can be purchased for a period of 12 or 24 months. As part of our service, we guarantee that the performance levels set at the beginning of the agreement will be maintained for its entire duration. At regular intervals, we can send reports on the state of the databases monitored and recommend changes to be implemented to maintain the established levels.

We monitor key database parameters, such as:

  • SQL command performance
  • wait times in the database (wait interface)
  • LATCH
  • I/O subsystems
  • memory buffer locks (lock)
  • user sessions

FAQ

1. Do you perform services remotely or locally?

Performance on demand service depends on Client needs, is performed remotely or locally in the place indicated by the Client. Performance management service is performed only in the remotely way by the DBPLUS Monitoring Center. In this way, we are able to provide constant performance for the duration of the contract.

2. How does Performance Management work?

Performance management is 24/7 databases’ monitoring. The main parameters we monitor: SQL commands performance, wait time, LATCH, I/O subsystems, memory buffers, locks and user sessions. The performance analysis is continuous, and the diagnosis and troubleshooting performance is immediate.

3. What is needed to use DBPLUS service?

Each service requires prior installation of the Performance Monitor software. Performance information are collected from the moment of monitoring. To best service perform, we recommend minimum a few days of operation of the application on a monitored database and only after that time we begin to perform services.

4. Is the Performance management service available 24/7?

Yes. Our software allows you to automatically monitor your databases 24/7, and during business hours (8 to 16) our engineers constantly monitor the behavior of the database, so that emergency problems are immediately analyzed and diagnosed. As a result, the customer receives performance reports in real time.

5. What is the duration of the contract for Performance management?

Performance Management service is available in two variants – 12- or 24-months contract. As part of the service, we guarantee that the performance of the databases covered by the contract will be maintained throughout the duration of the contract. The customer receives reports on the status of the monitored databases and changes recommended for implementation in the individually determined cycles to maintain the agreed performance level.

6. You really do not charge any fees if you fail to deliver performance improvements at a promised level?

Absolutely yes! Our philosophy of operation assumes that the services offered to our clients are ALWAYS financially beneficial for them, no matter how many hours we work on the solution. We charge only when we provide an agreed level of performance improvement. In this way, cooperation with DBPLUS is 100% risk-free.

7. How do I know which services I need: Performance on Demand or Performance Management?

Performance on Demand is the best option for systems that have lost productivity after some time but are not constantly evolving. When your system is constantly changing to implement new functionality and keep pace with the ever-changing business environment, Performance Management is the better choice as performance improvements once implemented may not work well after future system updates.

8. How do you know how much you can improve database performance?

DBPLUS Performance Monitor gives us very precise information about the execution times of each single SQL query in the database along with information about the CPU occupancy and the amount of data exchanged on I/O operations. Thanks to the extensive experience of our experts, based on information from Monitor, we can predict with great certainty how much improvement can be made in database performance. The accuracy of our estimation is so great that we are not afraid to give our famous guarantee to our customers “No success – No charge”.
