The most important functions added in the application are: additional functions in Session screen, improvements in query search and improvements in generate PLAN GUIDE script, additional warning message of monitoring DBPLUSCATHER service.

Sessions screen
In the new version of the application for Oracle, a function that presents data about sessions using sorting has been added. This information is presented in new columns: Sessions using Sort and Sort Space Used. The columns contain information about sessions that use the temporary space in a given unit of time and what space has been used for this purpose. Also, after select a given line in grid, detailed information that includes information about active sessions (Sessions), sessions using sorting (Sort) and sessions using Undo (Undo) for a given snapshot is available.

The page also contain a function that allows the user to generate a graph. There are four possible options, which include: active sessions, sessions that use sorting, sessions that use Undo and a summary chart that contains all statistics. After click a point on the chart, depending on the type of the graph, detailed information about the session will be presented.

Addition of statements that concern the operation of the DBPLUSCATHER service
In this version of the software, another function has been added – warnings about the status of the DBPLUSCATCHER service in the DBPLUS Performance Monitor application have been added. The mechanism warns before approaching end of the space or no space in the DBPLUS repository database and the DBPLUSCATCHER service, which does not work and is also responsible for collect performance statistics.

Improvements in query search
In the new version for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, the search for queries using the FIND SQL function (available in the Performance> SQL Details> Find SQL tab) has been extended. The presentation of results for search queries (Statement by text) has also been modified.

Additionally in the latest version for SQL Server, the option to search for queries on the database after the name of the object used in the query has been added (In this field, enter the (full) name of the object and select the date range) As a result, the system will present a list of queries running in the selected time interval, which search objects were used in the execution plan).

Improvements in generate PLAN GUIDE script
The new version of the application for SQL Server has improved the functionality of the Plan Guide Script generation. The modification consists of verification query scheme we want to generate the Plan Guide. When the query is run from the / trigger / function…, page with the supplemented field Object name will be presented, which contains the name of the schema and the name of the object. When the query is run from the application – the Parameters definition field will be presented, filled with parameters (if they were used in the query).
