New version Performance Monitor (Release 2021.4)

On December 30, 2021, we released a new version of Performance Monitor for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases. The most important functions added in the application are, new methods of communication via REST API for all versions of the application, adding support for PostgreSQL version 14 and many other changes improving the functioning of the Performance Monitor application.

Rest Api – Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
In the latest version, we have added further methods of communication with the DBPLUS Performance Monitor application using the REST API. This release provides methods for managing Outage (temporary monitoring off). There are also methods related to adding and removing new database instances for monitoring. In future versions, more methods for retrieving and updating data using the REST API will be added.

Support for version 14 – PostgreSQL
Support for PostgreSQL version 14 has been added in the latest version of the Performance Monitor application. PostgreSQL version 14 was officially released on September 30, 2021. Version 14 includes a number of changes related to the monitoring of queries performed in the monitored PostgreSQL instance. One of the main changes that has been added is related to the calculation of the query id identifier in the pg_stat_activity session view and changes to the system view containing information about the query statistics.

Other fixes and improvements(Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL)
As part of the release 2021.4, many changes have been made to improve the operation of the application. The introduced modifications include, among others changes in the area of Locks presentation, assigning databases and executing plans to queries performed (for PostgreSQL and MS SQL versions). Additionally, we made it possible to create a DBPLUS repository for the Azure SQL Managed Instance database version. The process of refreshing the rights of the user assigned to monitoring has also been improved.

Access to software updates
The DBPLUS software is updated at least 4 times a year. Customers have access to all updates when they have a license or maintenance service. With the upgrade to the latest version, the application will run faster and smoother. Each published version provides new functionalities that allow for easier management and performance improvement in the monitored database.
