New version Performance Monitor (Release 2021.1)

On April 9, 2021, we published a new version of Performance Monitor for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases. The most important functions added in the application are: next version of automatic problem detection Anomaly monitor, generating reports, wait dictionary.

Anomaly monitor (Oracle, Sql Server, PostgreSQL)
The functionality presents events detected in the monitored database on the basis of a trend study for the most important performance statistics. Queries performed in the database are verified, the performance of the disk array is checked, as well as statistics on the leading waits affecting the database performance. The functionality also monitors events related to: change of the execution plan, new queries, decrease in query performance (related statistics: buffer gets, disk reads, executions, elapsed time, cpu time), exceeding top waits, locks, Latch level increase and others.
If an event affecting the database performance is detected, this information is presented on the Anomaly monitor page. Each class contains detailed information about the event. If a problem related to the query is detected, the screen shows the statistics of the query for which the performance statistics have been exceeded.
Additionally, the user has the option of making a report containing information about the detected events visible on the Anomaly monitor screen. The report contains all performance problems that affected the performance of the monitored database in the period indicated for the report execution.

Wait Dictionary (Oracle, SQL Server)
The Performance Monitor application contains not only information about the level of waits occurring in the database, it is possible to obtain information about the wait, and based on the proposed solutions, verify the possibility of reducing the wait level. Wait dictionary currently presents a description of top waits appearing in databases, in next versions information about waits will be systematically added.

Access to software updates
The DBPLUS software is updated at least 4 times a year. Customers have access to all updates when they have a license or maintenance service. With the upgrade to the latest version, the application will run faster and smoother. Each published version provides new functionalities that allow for easier management and performance improvement in the monitored database.
