Performance Monitor (release 2018.3)

October 8, 2018, we have released a new version of Performance Monitor for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. The most important functions added in the application are: easier search of queries by FIND SQL function, upgrade alert management module, add statistic information about the Tempdb usage history.

Improvements in query search
In the new version for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, the search for queries using the FIND SQL function (available in the Performance> SQL Details> Find SQL) has been extended. The presentation of results for search queries (Statement by text) and changing the query execution plan (Plan Flip-Flop Statements) has also been modified. We have also introduced additional improvements in query search for Statements using objects.

Upgrade alert management module
In this software version, another functionality was added – defining the Reasons of problems and settings related to the alert rules. The basic change is a new approach to alarm definitions – the new Reasons & Problems definition tab allows you to assign the cause of a problem through defined alerts. Introducing the causes of the problem, alarms are grouped according to the configuration for a given reason. The latest version also includes new alert definitions for finding performance problems for a specific type of Wait (Wait Event Time alarm).

Add statistic information about the Tempdb usage history
In the new version for Microsoft SQL Server, we added information about session’s history using Tembdb. You can find them after entering SQL instances details (Instance Load>Sessions>Active sessions/Tempdb sessions/Log usage sessions history tab). The information is also visible on o graph which present usage of Tempdb and the number of sessions.

Software updates
The DBPLUS software is updated at least 4 times a year. Customers have access to all updates when they have a license or maintenance service. With the upgrade to the latest version, the application will run faster and smoother. Each published version provides new functionalities that allow for easier management and performance improvement in the monitored database.
